Johnny Whitworth and The Dark Fields

So I learned alot about myself this weekend. These are in no particular order and are completely unrelated...maybe...

#1- Diffusing awkward situations is one of my specialties.

#2- Skeet Ulrich has the superpower to make me blush all over.

#3- I love Umami Burgers.


Anyway. On to bigger things...

Good news...I see we finally have a name for Johnny Whitworth's character in "The Dark Fields". He plays Vernon Gant, dealer of the top-secret drug, MDT-48, and ex-brother-in-law to Bradley Cooper's character, Eddie.

"The Dark Fields" is based on the novel written by Alan Glynn with a March 18, 2011 U.S. release date. I would refer you to their Official Movie Site but oh hey, there isn't one.  COME ON.

And to Tina S., in Boston, MA and others who emailed to ask what Johnny is up to, I don't know, haven't heard from him in a while. Maybe he spends his time daydreaming about me and drawing hearts and flowers on my photo. Or maybe he's working. We should go with the last one...working.

Locked In World Premiere in Boston

The 26th Boston Film Festival will present six world premieres on September 17-23, 2010 at the new Stuart Street Playhouse.

The locally-shot psychological thriller “Locked In”, starring Ben Barnes, Johnny Whitworth, Sara Roemer, Eliza Dushku and directed by Suri Krishnamma will be the second world premiere film on Opening Night. The streets of Boston provides the backdrop as the film chronicles the lives of two fragile yet determined people and maps a private geography of love, loss, and ultimate redemption.

He looks adorable and sexy as usual....but he also looks like he's about to break into a Salsa.

Johnny Whitworth graciously posed for a photo with Production Paramedics own Bundy Chanock, while on set during the Valley of the Sun filming.  Production Paramedics provides tv and movie sets with trained paramedics and props so that  no one looks like a dumbass while trying to save a life.

holy hell. I guess it's really him but I think my brain can't process photos of him without his trademark sexy hair that I'm always wanting to run my fingers through.

Someone is auctioning off two vintage 35MM SLIDE NEGATIVES on eBay of Johnny Whitworth and Kirsten Dunst circa 1997 (?) I didn't do my homework but I'm gonna go ahead and say it was from a long time ago.

As you know, I'm not usually speechless... but they got me with this one for a minute. And there's about to be some cussin' so stop reading if you take offense to the occassional swear word.

First, I just want to say.....fuuuuuuck. It's good. It's real good. To just say he's hot is an understatement. He's I-wanna-go-up-one-side-and-down-the-other hot. He's even making an elastic waistband look sexy. Do you know how hard that is?

Second- I want to say thank you to Stokes, when I say more relevant production stills are needed, this is precisely what I mean.  You cannot go wrong with these. And puhleeeze include this photo in a kick-ass Valley of the Sun press kit. 

In fact I hope they have some of those Mr. Roper (maybe more Larry) style VV green velour jackets made up as promo swag real soon. They would do much better than some of the ridiculous what.the.shit. useless items film marketing departments come up with.

Valley of the Sun Cast List Update

Mi amore is back where he belongs at the top of Valley of the Sun's cast list in IMDb. all is forgiven.

And I was totally happy to see that the VOTS Facebook page added some production stills- then I saw it's just one still, if you can even call it a still (no), and.. ta-dah.. Johnny Whitworth is not in it. k. It's fine. Now there's a total of 4 photos on their page. (sigh.) The best one being Johnny standing in front of that fabulous cactus making even a blue effin' jumper look hot.

Dear Stokes... please come down hard and fast with a series of relevant stills for us over the next several weeks. By relevant I mean JOHNNY WHITWORTH.

Would a smiley face make that sound less bitchy?

Teegan you're awesome- I emailed you back and for everyone else, here's what I told Teegan.

I do not arrange Johnny's appearances. In fact, I don't know if anyone but Johnny arranges his appearances. If I could arrange any of his appearances though, he would be standing in front of me right now with a bottle of wine in one hand and a room key in the other. ooh I know...completely shocking that I could even think that.

I gotta say, I don't think he does meet & greets too often. You might catch him after a film Q & A or in a green room after a live taping- but that depends on having a saavy rep who looks for opportunities to connect Johnny with his fans. Which I hope he has. just sayin'.

On an professional note: I can't say for certain if /when there are opportunities to meet Johnny. If I get news, I will be the first post it here- probably as BREAKING NEWS, cause you know me. But for an official status on his appearances, contacting his management office (Roklin Management) may be your best bet. Don't be shy, the people who work for celebrities punch a proverbial timeclock just like you. You don't know until you ask.  "Hi my name is XXX, I hope this isn't a bad time but can you tell me if I can get information on XXX's scheduled appearances, if any." It will be a yes or no answer.  No means no, by the way.

It was kind of a bad weekend for me. My brother's disturbed wife announced she wanted a divorce- so I'm totally heartbroken for him and my niece... then Billy got himself worked up again over his "be mine or we can't be friends" feelings. He's sexy and smart and I'll admit it's hard to work in close proximity with him when he's literally breathing down my neck while I'm reviewing his campaign. But I know how to put an attraction on the back burner when I have to. And for eff's sake...ultimatums just make me go in reverse. 

And if all that isn't bad enough, I came downstairs this morning to find my Blackberry half inside my dogs huge mouth. drool, bite marks, the whole nine yards. sweet geezus.

It leads with his sexiest role yet- JAKE BERKELEY (yum) and goes right into a few of his finest film moments to date. Then is closes out to one of my all time faves, Frank Sinatra's Summer Wind. It packs a nice short punch that shows where Johnny Whitworth is capable of taking any character at any time.

Valley of the Sun Good News

Johnny Whitworth knows how to make me feel better. Or he at least knows how to make my head stop hurting from the Valley of the Sun Cast List Debacle.

He assured me that Ron Jeremy indeed appears in the film but that his appearance at the top of cast list in IMDb should be brief. Not brief enough for me though, right?

Johnny comments on Ron's cameo:

"he'll be in the movie but as a featured exxxtra during the opening along with other pornstars but it will be dope!"

Phew. Trust me when I tell you unless you're making a porn, you do not want the man they refer to as THE HEDGEHOG on top. 'Cause if Ron Jeremy's at the top of the list it might mean that you've had sex with him. kidding. Oh hey wait, I'm not kidding this time.

And just to drive home my point about all this, 'cause that's what I do, here's why the correct order of your cast list is important when marketing to your audience:

a. "Holy shit I have to see this movie in the theater"

b. "I'll probably rent this from NetFlix when it goes to DVD"

c. "Maybe I'll watch it if I see it in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart"

You want option a...always...are we on the same page?

Johnny also tells us that they're still aiming for the Sundance fest final deadline in late September. It's gonna be tight because they still have a reshoot and edits, but they have one of the greatest film festivals ever in their crosshair and are working hard to make it happen. GOOD LUCK to Stokes McIntyre, the team and their superstar, Johnny Whitworth.

And another thing. Please stop by the Valley of the Sun Facebook page and tell Stokes that he must harness a very hungry fan base waiting for VOTS stills, trailers, comments...ANYTHING. I can see that they will take absolutely ANYTHING and devour it right now. They're that hungry for something new and for eff's sake, fans must be fed continously, even if it's only breadcrumbs. Superfans thrive on the build-up. They'll take your project wherever you want to see it go but KEEP IT COMING AND DON'T STOP. Filmmakers get so wrapped up in their tech stuff (for good reason), but they tend to miss the critical marketing opportunities that make people go crazy with anticipation.

Johnny Whitworth makes people go crazy with anticipation... start there.

Ok I'm done...believe it or not, my two-cents worth is worth more than two-cents. Most of the time.

This Makes My Head Hurt

hokay. I don't even know where to start with this so I'm just going to say I hope it goes away. While it's true that Ron Jeremy has become sort of a parody of himself by appearing in a few non-porn films, I'm gonna go ahead and say that he should not take top billing in the Valley of the Sun's IMDb listing at this time.  Hello? it's kind of a critical time for the movie, so I'm hoping it's an IMDb fluke that he effin' appears to be the lead actor.  

Although Ron Jeremy boasts one of the longest filmography's in history, at the end of the day he's a big horny, hairy porn actor having starred in classics such as:

- The Great American Squirt Off 2

- Porn Stars from Mars

- Anal Princess Diaries

- Eating Poussé

Alright this is making me giggle, I must be a perv. All you have to do in my office is read off the names of a few movies and the men look like they're going to explode. Go back to work fellas, if I told you no once, it will always be no.

In all seriousness, Ron is a slight draw and does have his following but in my opinion...he doesn't belong at the top of this one. Let's hope that gets fixed reeeal soon before I have to say WTF IS JOHNNY WHITWORTH DOING WAY DOWN ON THAT CAST LIST?! Unacceptable.

Anyway.

Johnny Whitworth made some girl's day a few months ago when she snapped an ultra-stealth pic from her phone while he tries to look interested in some paperwork.
